1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the SickleSafe application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Medical Disclaimer
SickleSafe is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The information and tools provided in the App are intended for personal health management and educational purposes only.
Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or recorded in this App.
In a medical emergency, call 112 (or your local emergency number) immediately.
3. Eligibility
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. By using the App you confirm that you are at least 13 years old.
If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App. By using the App, your parent or guardian confirms they have read and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and any information associated with it. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your profile and to keep it up to date. SickleSafe reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Community Standards
SickleSafe includes community features where users can share posts and messages. When using these features, you agree to:
- Be respectful and considerate of other community members
- Not share harmful medical misinformation
- Not post offensive, abusive, discriminatory, or illegal content
- Not share other users' personal or health information without their explicit consent
- Not use the community to advertise products or services without authorisation
SickleSafe reserves the right to remove content that violates these standards and to suspend or permanently ban accounts of users who repeatedly or seriously breach them, without prior notice.
6. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of any content you create and share within SickleSafe (posts, messages, images). By posting content within the App, you grant SickleSafe a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the App for the purpose of operating the community features.
You confirm that you have the right to share any content you post and that doing so does not infringe any third-party rights.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the App to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its related systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
- Distribute malware or other harmful software
- Harvest or collect other users' data without consent
- Use the App in any way that could disable, damage, or impair its functionality
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, content, trademarks, and logos, is the intellectual property of SickleSafe and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SickleSafe and its officers, directors, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
SickleSafe's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed £50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
